Call now if you have any of these

No cooling above 85°F

Heat index is dangerous for kids, seniors, and pets. Don't wait for the morning.

No heat below 55°F

Frozen pipes start at 32°F indoor wall temps. We prioritize no-heat calls in winter.

Burning or electrical smell

Shut the breaker off. Call before turning anything back on — this is the #1 fire-risk symptom.

Water leaking indoors

A clogged condensate line or cracked pan can drop a ceiling. Call for the next available dispatch window.

Breaker tripping on HVAC

Don't keep resetting it. Repeat trips mean a short or failing compressor.

CO alarm near furnace

Evacuate, call 911 if anyone feels sick, then call us to inspect the heat exchanger.

Emergency HVAC FAQs

How fast can AirIQ respond to an emergency HVAC call in Richmond?+

Call (804) 816-4506 for urgent availability. Dispatch windows depend on current technician load and time of day — we confirm your arrival window on the phone before we roll a truck, not after we have your credit card. Business hours are Mon–Fri 8a–6p and Sat 9a–2p.

What counts as an HVAC emergency?+

No cooling above 85°F indoors, no heat below 55°F indoors, burning smell from a vent or unit, water leaking from indoor air handler, breaker repeatedly tripping on the HVAC circuit, or carbon monoxide alarm near a gas furnace. All of these qualify and should be called in immediately.

Is there an after-hours surcharge?+

Our flat $99 diagnostic covers business hours (Mon–Fri 8a–6p, Sat 9a–2p). After-hours and Sunday emergency calls are $189 flat — quoted on the phone before we dispatch, with the full fee applied toward any repair we perform that visit.

Do you service all of Central Virginia for emergency HVAC?+

We cover Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover, Glen Allen, Short Pump, Midlothian, Mechanicsville, the Tri-Cities, and out to Fredericksburg. Online booking is available any time and dispatch is confirmed during business hours (Mon–Fri 8a–6p, Sat 9a–2p); outer areas may be next-morning depending on technician location.

After the emergency call: repair, replace, or maintain

Most urgent calls end with a decision. Here is how we price each path in Richmond and Central Virginia, so you can weigh the fix against the replacement before you commit.

Repair it

A flat $99 diagnostic tells you exactly what failed and what the fix costs, in writing, before any work starts. The $99 applies to the repair you approve that visit.

Replace it

When repair costs stack up on an aging system, we price the replacement openly — one installed total, no pressure, and the option of a second opinion on a quote you already have.

Maintain it

Routine maintenance helps identify wear and airflow problems before a breakdown. A $120 tune-up — or a Service Plan that includes them — keeps airflow, refrigerant charge and safety checks on schedule.

HVAC problems we can help with in Richmond

  • No heat overnight — failed igniter, flame sensor or limit switch on a gas furnace
  • No cooling in July — tripped breaker, failed capacitor or a frozen indoor coil
  • Heat pump running but blowing cool air in winter — defrost or reversing-valve fault
  • Water around the indoor unit from a blocked condensate drain
  • Burning smell or repeated breaker trips — we shut it down and inspect before restarting

How scheduling works

You can book online any time. Our dispatch team confirms appointments Monday–Friday, 8am–6pm, and works urgent no-heat and no-cool calls into the earliest available slot.
